I like the initiative system in H5 and even more the complexicy building up the heroes. You can design the hero almost as you like, but it takes time and you not always get want you want. So you almost never complete the skills before the game ends.
The complexicy of building up the hero makes it a very strategic game where you design your hero for fighting the enemy hero. It's great.

I think it is okay that they simplified the ressource system. The fun part is not collecting a lot of different ressources, but building up the hero and the town the best way, exploring the landscape, and the fights.

If they found something better than the initiative, this is also welcome. I like going in to it with a open mind and hope they surprise me in a positive way. Also pleased to hear that a lot of new creatures are availble (was it 40%)? I hope that I (and others) will not get disapointed.

I loved H3 (except the very overpowered townportal, fly, dimension door, Armageddon combined with for example black dragons, and diplomacy). I played H3 for 7 years at least. I hated H4 and stoped playing it after a very short time meeting it with a open mind. H5 is even better than H3 and I have a very open mind for H6.

Lets see what we get. I will definately buy.

OK, I understand.

There is some new info available: some pictures from the Gamescom presentation. We can see that when converting a town, some buildings are lost because they cannot be converted (see this article).

Maybe special buildings means faction specific buildings apart from dwellings.

I can read German fluently, and the translations given on Heroes Community forum are correct. They do state that there will not be a town screen any more and that all special buildings will be gone. How well the journalist in question was familiar with the Heroes franchise and how much of the finished product was seen is another matter however :D

If that is indeed true, I think people will miss the ability to recruit all available creatures from the same screen :). In timed matches, this might really make a difference.

I am not sure I dislike the idea of completely removing the town screen. I think we can get used to it.

Also, about the German magazine: I cannot read German, so I rely on other people and / or automatic translations. For now, I am not convinced they mean the town screen is completely gone. Can you read German?

Taverns and magic guilds could be on the main map exclusively, magic spells could even just be incorporated in the skills system, it is already reveled that skill progression will not be random any more.

From the German magazine: "No more special buildings in the towns, only dwellings and production building. Towns will grow on the map when we build them." This would give no need at all for the town screen, so it makes sense to remove it from that viewpoint. The fact that it would destroy the flavour IMNSHO seems to be taken as collateral damage by the developers.

No buildings other than dwellings would mean no mage guild. I doubt that is the case. Also, we have to recruit heroes somewhere; so we would need a tavern.

My interpretation (without any proof for it) would be that you will no longer have a new town screen that will load like in Heroes I - V, but a simple town screen that will be similar to a dialog that will allow certain actions.
